I've never been able to find any oil-free pita bread around here, whether white flour or whole grain. I've also never been able to find any gluten-free pita. I tried making my own pita years ago when I was still eating wheat and they never puffed up into pockets, just stayed thick slabs of bread, so that suggestion is out, too.
I'm sure somewhere out there you can find McDougall/Esselstyn-safe pita bread, and maybe even a gluten-free one. But for now, I'm just glad nobody in this house is even looking for any kind of chip to eat.
